Velocity Race Weekend Coming Together!

The details have nearly been nailed down.

Prize money and swag are showing up!

May 19 and 20 are shaping up to be a great race weekend, and almost a return the the Velocity Stage Race tradition of years-gone-by.

We are co-hosting with Cranky’s Cycling Club the May 19 Perron District Criterium in downtown St. Albert. And then we’ll host  another edition of our own Sunnyside ITT on Monday, May 20. Tech guides and Zone4 registration pages will be available in the next few days.

It’s time … To Catch Fixed Gear Fever!

We’ll have our own private session at the velodrome this month. Come try a few laps on a track bike! The club will set you up on one of our own bikes – just bring your own pedals, shoes and helmet.

And if you’ve ridden the velodrome in the past, and would like to refresh yourself – this will be your ideal opportunity too!

Just come on down to the Argyll Velodrome on Sunday afternoon, May 26 from 3-6pm. We may even have a chance for some post-track beverages in the clubhouse.

Club Weekday Ride Schedule

The wonky weather may scrub the plans to start weekday rides. Stay tuned to Twitter for final go/no-go decisions this coming week.

Monday night will start with the Hill Circuit at 6pm. This will be an exploratory night, looking for safe hills – free of construction hazards. If you’ve got ideas to share, please come out. Starting again in Hawrelak Park. Expect about 1:30 to 2hrs of riding.

Threshold intervals will depart from Colchester School on Thursday at 6pm. Also expect about 1:30 to 2hrs riding.

And if the weather cooperates too, Track League starts this week

10miler Tuesdays – Start at the rail promptly at 7pm.

3-Event Omnium Thursdays – Start promptly at 6pm.
