June 21 – 27 Update

Just Ride This Weekend

With no road events on the calendar, make it a weekend to just ride. Don’t worry about your data. Just pull up the map route display to keep you going in the right direction.

Or maybe you don’t want to look at a display at all, but still want to record the ride. So start your bike computer and drop it in your pocket.

And if it’s still raining? Then get onto those bike maintenance tasks you’ve been putting off.

Inspect your tires for wear. I discovered my own were “suddenly” threadbare – I could have sworn they looked quite solid last time I checked less than a month ago.

Wash your bike. Check your chain for wear with a chain checker. If it’s stretched 0.5% or more think about replacing it. If it’s still OK, then apply some lube, especially if you can’t remember the last time you did it.

Weekend Rides

Looking over my own travel schedule, it appears I’ll still be away for the weekend rides over the next few weeks.

Download your weekend club routes from Strava. Help your club mates stay on course. Be kind!
