With the change in weather, our outdoor riding season has come to a close.
Thanks everyone who came out to ride this year! I hope you’ve learned something about group riding, a little something about the people you ride with and a little something about the type of rider you are too.
Please feel free to send me an email if you’ve got any suggestions for next year’s rides: coaching@velocitycyclingclub.ca. I try to move our starts around the city, keeping us outside of the major urban areas as much as possible. Only our weeknight hill circuit is urban, and for that much of it is on multi-use paths and quiet residential streets. Our bigger rides start outside of the Henday on mostly county township and range roads. If you’ve got a favourite stretch of pavement that we didn’t find this year, please let me know how we can include it next year.
AGM and Club Party on November 4
Tickets are on sale now for our club party on November 4 at Belgravia Hall (11540 73 Ave NW, Edmonton). Tickets for the meal will be $10 per person and $25 per family (3+ people). The meal will be an Italian buffet, catered by Chianti.
At the Annual General Meeting, we will:
- Approve the financial statements.
- Elect our President and Secretary to the Board of Directors.
Our current Secretary, Dave Watson, is willing to let his name stand again as Secretary.
After 6 years in the President position, Ed Heacock feels it’s time to bring on a new person. We welcome your nominations.
