Roger’s Harvest Ride

Next Saturday we’ll host annual Roger’s Harvest Ride. Most year’s we’ve done this on a Sunday, but there’s a ‘cross race in the region (Devon) next Sunday. To provide as many members the chance to ride AND race next weekend, we’ll host Roger’s Ride on the Saturday this year.

So, please plan to join us on the trails around the Waskahegan Staging Area, east of the city, on October 1 at 10:30am. All bikes are welcome. Cyclocross and MTBs can take to the trails. Road bikes can do a circuit through Antler Lake and then around Hastings Lake. Expect about 1:30hrs of riding whichever way you do it.

The ride is in memory of Roger Tetrault, a long-time club member who we lost to cancer. Please consider making a donation in Roger’s name to support Skin Cancer (or any fundraising area that has a special meaning for you) at: Donate – Alberta Cancer Foundation

After the ride there will be an outdoor BBQ with burgers (beef and vegetarian options) and soda pop. Maybe hot chocolate, depending how cold the day turns out.

Non-club members can ride too this day once they’ve signed a liability waiver (linked on the mandatory signup form). Please preregister by 9:00pm Thursday September 29 to join in this ride and help us plan food quantities. Family and friends not riding are welcome to join us too for the BBQ. Please complete this >>Velo Ride Signup Form for each person attending.

Saturday Club Ride

We’ll start again this week from the Ardrossan Rec Centre at 10am.

With another windy day expected, this week’s route will stay mostly south of HWY 16 and make a loop over to Antler Lake.

Please signup on the Event page at:

Sunday Rule V Ride

Try some hard riding into the hills west of the city. You could get dropped on this ride, so be prepared and know your own way back to the start. Meet 10am at The Enjoy Centre in St. Albert.

Wednesday Hill Circuit

One more time this season! Our last Wednesday Night Hill Circuit starts at 6pm. We’ll leave Zoo Hill out, and just do the shorter (but steeper) hills in the central river valley.

Details are here:

Wednesday Night CX Worlds

‘Cross racers, this week’s event stages at the Argyll Velodrome at 7pm (unless they’ve moved that to 6:30pm now because sunset is around 7:30 – could be, but I’m not sure). A, B, and C ability categories offered. MTB bikes are welcome for new ‘cross racers.
