November 9 – 15 Weekly Update

2018 Road Rides Wrapped-Up

After a few false starts in September and October, it looks like winter has arrived to stay. We’ve finished our official outdoor rides.

But that won’t necessarily mean all outdoor riding is finished.

If the weather turns great again, and roads look good — and riders are willing — then we could pull off a special ride. Watch for Twitter updates if we think it’ll happen.

And as I mentioned during our End-of-Season party, we will be trying a River Valley trail ride if temperatures permit. This will be a “winter bike” ride. Use your fat bike, cross bike or MTB. It would probably start in Rundle Park, and use trails through the River Valley, making warm-up stops as needed along the route. We’ll make announcements on the website and Twitter when these happen. First one may be later in November, or early December.

Annual General Meeting on November 26

We have our mandatory AGM set for Monday, November 26, 7-8:30pm.

One key item we’ll need to discuss is a new riding kit design for 2019.

Giant Bicycles Cafe (9835-63 Ave) serves as our host location. This will be a great time to check out the new cafe if you haven’t done so yet. And the Club will serve you coffee and snacks to sample too.

If you have anything special you’d like to discuss for our 2019 season, please email your thoughts to Club President, Ed Heacock: president@velocitycyclingclub.ca

Don’t compare your results to someone elses’s. You can never be another person. Only a better version of yourself.

NEW this year! We're trying out Link My Ride for sharing weekly ride details.
