2020 Club Membership Open

We’re ready to start accepting your membership for 2020. New this year is our club Code of Conduct. We’re committed to providing all members a safe, positive and enjoyable experience in our club. All members must review and accept the terms of this Code when applying for their club membership.

You’ll have the opportunity to review the Code when taking out your membership (CLICK HERE) or you can preview the code right now: Velocity Code of Conduct.

Giant Edmonton Closed

We’ve lost our club’s go-to bike shop, and Edmonton has lost one of its hardest-working teams of bike-shop staff. The store has closed, with no clear plans to re-open.

Those of you with Giant and Liv bikes probably received an email from United Cycle about their store picking up the servicing of your bikes. If you didn’t receive their email, please reach out directly to United Cycle yourself, and see what kinds of warranty coverage they can provide. United Cycle has now added Giant and Liv bikes to their retail bike line-up.

The club would like to develop a new local bike shop partnership. If you have any suggestions, please send them along for discussion at our club meeting next week.

Weekend Zwift Meetup Ride

Coach Kevin hosts Zwift Meetups on most Saturdays at 11am for about an hour. I provide some coaching directions, like picking up your cadence, dropping it down but lifting your tension/resistance and getting out-of-the-saddle for some additional core engagement.

If you’d like to participate, you must be following me on Zwift. In Zwift’s Companion app (their blue icon app), use the “Find Zwifters” function, and search for “Kevin Rokosh.” I should show up. If possible, edit your own username to put “[VCC]” at the end. That will help me pick you out from the crowd. If I find your name in the list of my followers, then I’ll include you in the Meetup invite list.

The next ride will be on Saturday, January 11.

If you have any questions, send me an email: Kevin@EpicSeasonCoaching.com

“I felt it – the exhilaration of what the bike has to offer. It’s a simple machine that conjures a vast mix of emotions. It can evoke the senses and raise the spirits of people who watch. For those who ride it can seem like the perfect vehicle for transport. For those who race, there’s no better sensation than being on top of your gear making mountains feel like flat roads. Cycling throws up plenty of obstacles, unknown territory, high speed split-second considerations. Where to next? What’s around the next corner? Who cares? You’re flyin’!” Cadel Evans
