2024 Velocity Afterburner Gravel

September 8 @ 09:00 - 17:00

Details

Ride through aspen parkland on nearly 100% gravel oil field service roads just to the northwest of Alder Flats (about 160km west of Edmonton). The 105km championship course starts at 10:30. The 56km recreational course starts at 10:40. Sign-on starts at 8:15am and closes 15 minutes before race-time.

There will be feed stations with energy bars and water on course at the 31km point of the short course, and the 42km, 63km and 80km points on the long course.

Best efforts will be made to have full signage for the courses, but riders should download their course to a GPS bike computer or their phone for full backup. If you miss a sign, it could be easy to get lost on these roads!! The Tech Guide (below) has route links for downloading. Read the Tech Guide!

Riders will be treated to a BBQ meal post-ride in Alder Flats.
