Get Ready To Place Your Clothing Order
Every spring we open our online Jakroo store for a special 2-week ordering window. During this time we can overall “bulk-up” our orders to offer you the best quantity-discounted prices for individual items.
The plan this year is to hold the store open from March 21 to April 3. Then your individual order will be shipped directly to you, arriving about the week of April 18 – just in time for our Spring Riding Camp at the end of April.
To prepare to offer you the best prices, we need to get an estimate of how many of each item will be ordered. To help with that, I’ve created a Google Survey form. Please take a look at it >>>HERE<<< and let us know what you think you’ll be ordering this spring. This form is NOT your clothing order form. It is only to help let us tell Jakroo what kinds of quantities we will be ordering later in March.
We’re also looking for your overall interest in a “training jersey” to be sold a bit later this season. This will be a more relaxed “fondo” fit to show your club colours (but in a different scheme) during your own training rides and any non-sanctioned events you might be riding. The Google Survey form has a special field for you to express your interest in this alternative jersey idea. With sufficient people showing support, we’ll go ahead with the design creation.
Spring Riding Camp
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to settle down (for now), it’s looking even more hopeful to return to Penticton next month.
The plan is to be riding daily from Sunday, April 24 to Saturday the 30th. Riding weather is more reliable in the Okanagan valley than here that time of year. And the rolling terrain along the vineyards reminds me of the European rides I’ve done in France and Italy. The camp is a fantastic way to kick off your 2022 outdoor riding season. But come prepared with some steady riding in your legs between now and then. This will be a camp to finish off your winter base training season.

Club Hosts a Criterium in June
If you’re not going to race, then please volunteer to help run our first event in more than 2 years!
Saturday June 11 we are hosting a criterium. We’ll be putting out a full call for volunteers closer to race-date. But in the near term we’ll need some good planners to keep the event moving forward. If you can help, please send Ed a quick email: president@velocitycyclingclub.ca.
