Rain rain go away …
If you’d like to meetup with some Velocity clubmates for winter cross-training on your cross country skis, Ed Heacock will be making his way out to the trails on Sunday mornings. Actually, you might find Ed out there almost every day of the week, as he hangs his bike up for the winter and straps on his skis. No indoor trainer rides for Ed!
Look for Ed most Sunday mornings, about 9:30am, at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre. Trail groomers have done their best to rejuvenate the snow after this week’s freezing rain. But skate skis might be the best option right now, despite the groomers’ best efforts.
If you’re unfamiliar with the trails out there, you can check them out and see current conditions on Strathcona County’s website.
Saturday Zwift Meetup Rides
For those who do jump on their indoor trainers, you’ve got the Saturday morning Zwift Meetup option with me. Unless I’m travelling somewhere, you can join me for a “Keep Everyone Together” ride on Zwift.
I need to manually invite interested Zwift riders to these Meetups. To make it easier for me, please register yourself on this Zwift Meetup Registration Form >>>HERE<<< 15 of your club mates have already signed up.
You only need to register once, and I’ll keep inviting you from then on throughout the indoor riding season. No need to register again each week.
Casino Event Thank Yous!
We scraped together just enough volunteers (plus a few non-club members, thanks to our casino advisors) to get it done.
To all of you that helped, and a bit of extra thanks to those on day 2 that had to brave icy roads to get there (special mention to Jenny who rode her bike!) a great big Thank You to help keep the club going.
A block of rooms have been set aside for the club at the Tiki Shores Motel. Please phone the hotel directly to book your own room, telling them you’re with the Velocity Cycling Club group – phone (250) 492-8769.
Do You Ride “Junk Miles?”
In case you missed it last time I mentioned it, I have a simple 3 question quiz you can take. Learn what Junk Miles might be, and if they’ve infected your riding.
Click HERE>>> to go start the quiz and discover if Junk Miles are killing your training …
You are one ride away from a good mood.
