November 1 Update

Don’t Miss the End-of-Year Dinner and AGM!

Friday is your deadline to buy tickets for this Saturday’s celebration of cycling in the McKernan Community Hall.

Just before the dinner, we’ll take a short 30 minutes to hold our Annual General Meeting.

We have one major item that needs a club vote: adoption of the new set of club bylaws. The bylaws need a 21st century update. For example, the old bylaws required meeting notices sent by postal mail, and who does that for meetings anymore? Your club executive has already drafted and fully reviewed the new bylaws. Now we just need an AGM vote to make everything official. Please give yourself some time to show up at 5:30 pm Saturday to cast your vote.

A copy of the bylaws for you to review is posted on the full event page: CLICK HERE

Dinner will be catered by Chianti’s with a few different dishes available, including gluten-free and vegan options. Tickets are $10 each, $20 for families (plus applicable service fees) and only sold online through a Zone4 portal: https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=22219. A cash-only bar serving beer and wine will also be available. Non-alcoholic drinks are included with your meal ticket.

I’m also tallying up your nominations for club Rider-of-the-Year. We’ll recognize one Female and one Male rider at the club dinner. Please make your selections HERE: https://forms.gle/ZKQ2MPvupDXJFuZy7

Weekend Rides

Organized weekend rides are done this year. The weather continues to challenge outdoor road rides. Trail and gravel riding might still be options for you, if it’s not wet and cold.

Watch for my club Twitter announcements about some online meet-up rides. Zwift has improved the controls to keep meet-up groups together, and I’m keen to see what they’ve done.

You can either throw in the towel, or drape it over your handlebars on your indoor trainer.

NEW this year! We're trying out Link My Ride for sharing weekly ride details.
