VCC October 10 Update

Velocity CX

Mark your calendars! Our annual cyclocross race is just around the corner on October 19. We’re excited to host it again, this year at the Argyll Park/Mill Creek Ravine location.

To make this event a success, we need a solid team of volunteers. We’ve got enough people for course setup on Friday afternoon. Saturday still needs a little assistance. Course teardown on Sunday needs a couple of people too. Your support will be invaluable!

With Pedalhead Road Works hosting the provincial cyclocross championships at the same venue on Sunday, sharing some of our course features, it’s going to be a fantastic weekend of back-to-back racing!

Volunteering means you’ll be right in the heart of the action—cyclocross is known for being one of the most exciting and spectator-friendly forms of bike racing. Ready to join us? Click the link below to sign up:

Saturday Ride
This Saturday we’re going to go looking for some fall colours on the west side of the city. With the morning forecast looking to be quite chilly, I’m bumping the start time to 11am. Meet in the Petro-Can parking lot in the Acheson Truck Stop area, just off HWY 16. You’ll find a 79km route on the event page. But I’ll also have a shorter 58km route, for those who want to join me for my “Birthday Ride” on Saturday. Every year on my birthday I’ve been riding my age in kilometres. Eventually, my year-long training will be focused on getting me ready for my Birthday Ride each year!
