VCC May 28 Update

Stieda Classic Weekend

Road Racing kicks off in the Edmonton area this weekend with the 2-day Stieda Classic. Saturday hosts the road races in Parkland County, staging from Graminia Hall. Sunday’s criterium action will be again in Laurier Heights. I’ll be at both races to provide some coaching support and feeds during Saturday’s road races. Please drop me an email if you’re looking for support and we’ll connect on both race days: [email protected].

Saturday Ride

With the Stieda race in the west, Saturday’s 100km ride will launch in the east from Colchester Hall at 9am. Arneil should be on hand to lead the A group. B-speed group will need to designate their own Ride Leader, as Coach Kevin will be at the Stieda event. Ride Leaders should have the route loaded and make sure no one gets left behind.

Sunday Ride

The shorter weekend ride on Sunday will leave from the Strathcona Olympiette Centre at 9am. The 66km route heads down to Rollyview and back. The current forecast looks rainy, so check for any announcements on the club website if this ride gets cancelled.

VCC Track Sessions

Sunday sessions will continue until June 14. Wednesday’s will continue right through the summer.

Thursday Hill Circuit

Join our hill circuit on Thursday evening at 6:30pm. Meet up in the North parking lot of Hawrelak Park. We should be able to add the Victoria Park Road climb to our circuit this week.

Canmore Crux Entry Discount

If you want more gravel after the Festivus of Gravel last weekend, you can head to Canmore on June 7 for the Canmore Crux. As mentioned last week, the race organizers have a discount code for Velocity members: VELOCITYTEAM15. Find all the details at: www.canmorecrux.com

Sunday May 31: Ride cancelled due to rain and high winds.
