Alberta Velodrome Club Appreciation Event
The Alberta Velodrome is hosting this as a thank-you to the local clubs for helping make the track the busy, vibrant place it is. Registration closes tonight (Mon, Dec 15) at 6:00pm Registration closes Wednesday, Dec 17, at 6pm! There’s a $10 food token charged at registration so they can plan race heats and food properly.
How the day flows:
- 11:30 Track opens… 60 minutes of riding before racing
- 12:30 Racing begins (club-based team events + some creative rules)
- Mixed Team Sprint (club team of 5… 6 laps, each rider does a lap on the front)
- 10-Miler (64 laps… “collusion allowed”… yes, really)
- 5-Miler (32 laps)
- “Club 2000m” team challenge (4 riders with specific categories… combined time wins)
- 3:00–3:15 Racing wraps up, track time winds down
- Head downstairs for food, music, awards + prizes (including Best Ugly Cycling Jersey and Best Holiday Costume)
- 3:30–4:30 Family-style meal near the bike cage area
If you’re track-certified and can make it… get yourself registered before the deadline TODAY WEDNESDAY at 6pm and come ready to represent Velocity.
