VCC February 25 Update

2026 Casino Fundraiser – March 10 & 11

2 Weeks to Go — We Still Need 19+ Volunteers

We’re officially inside the 2-week countdown… and we still have 19+ unfilled shifts.

This isn’t just another volunteer request.

This 2-day casino fundraiser brings in nearly $80,000 for our club. It’s the main reason we can:

  • Keep membership fees among the lowest in the city
  • Rent velodrome time for our track sessions
  • Continue offering the programming we all benefit from
  • Provide race fee reimbursements

Simply put: this event fuels our club for the next two years.

The good news?
You don’t need any experience.
You just need to be 18+.

The casino is professionally run, and our Casino Advisors walk you through everything step-by-step. The roles are straightforward and fully supported.

We have day and night shifts available on March 10 & 11.
If you can work both days, that’s incredibly helpful. Just plan to stay in the same role for both shifts.

Now we need members to step up.

If you ride at our sessions, race in our kit, or appreciate keeping fees affordable, this is the moment to give back. Two days of your time helps sustain two years of cycling opportunities for everyone.

Please check your calendar right now and claim an open shift on the Volunteer Signup Sheet.

Let’s close those 19 gaps and show what this club is made of.

Thank you for stepping up.

New 6PM Sunday Velodrome Session Now Open

We’ve officially secured a new Sunday evening velodrome time slot: 6:00–7:00pm is now open for bookings.

This is exactly the kind of opportunity our casino fundraiser makes possible.

The money raised over those two days is what allows us to rent additional track time, expand sessions, and keep our membership fees among the lowest in the city. This new Sunday hour exists because of that funding.

If you’ve been wanting more track access, this is it.

Go here now to book your spot:
https://activitymessenger.com/p/x752aNC

(Select “Velocity” and all upcoming time slots will appear — a greyed-out date means that session is full.)

As you’re booking your Sunday track session, please take a moment to loop back and check the Casino Volunteer Signup Sheet as well. Events like that are what make sessions like this possible.

Ride the track. Support the club. Help keep it rolling.

Race Fee Reimbursements – Submit by April 1

If you raced in 2025, it’s time to submit your expenses for reimbursement.

Thanks to our casino fundraiser, we’re able to support members by reimbursing entry fees for ABA-sanctioned races.

Please note:

  • ✔ ABA-sanctioned races only
  • ✘ No out-of-province races
  • ✘ No gran fondos
  • ✘ No charity rides

To submit:

  1. Gather all supporting entry fee receipts (PDF copies or email confirmations are perfect).
  2. Total your eligible expenses.
  3. Include the total amount in the body of your email.
  4. Send everything to our Treasurer, Paul Ermantrout, at:
    [email protected]

Deadline: April 1

These reimbursements, along with our track time and low membership fees, are only possible because of the funds raised at our casino event. If you plan to submit race expenses this year, please consider stepping up to fill one of the remaining casino volunteer shifts. Help us to keep fueling these member benefits for the next two years.

Support the club that supports your racing.

Sunday May 31: Ride cancelled due to rain and high winds.
