VCC October 3 Update

Roger’s Harvest Ride

All looks fine this week for Roger’s Harvest Ride to go ahead as planned on Saturday!

Members and non-members (your family and/or friends) are welcome to join us this Saturday morning for a fun trail ride, honouring the memory of our late club member and riding friend Roger Tetrault. It starts in the Waskahegan Trail Staging Area. We also use this event as a fundraiser for Alberta cancer research. You’ll find a link to donate on the ride’s Event Page.

Sign up for the ride by 9pm this evening (use the link on the ride’s Event Page) and we’ll be able to serve you at the post-ride BBQ in the staging parking lot’s picnic area.

Velocity CX Event Planning Launched
On October 19, we’re hosting our annual cyclocross race. This year we’re running the the event in the Argyll Park/Mill Creek Ravine location.

As with any event we host, we need a team of volunteers to pull this off. We’ll need your help with the course set up late on the Friday afternoon before, a few hands during the day on Saturday, and then again later Sunday to tear everything down. Sunday, the provincial cyclocross championships will be run by Pedalhead Road Works in the same venue, using some of the same course features. We’ll be helping each other out to run a successful weekend of racing for everyone.

Cyclocross is one of the most spectator-friendly forms of bike racing. As a volunteer, you’ll have a front-seat position to be in the heart of the action! Please click on the following link to go to the sign up sheet:

To sign up, just follow the instructions on the page. It only takes a few seconds to do.

Thank you for volunteering!
