All Finishing Times: Velocity ITT World Championships – Finishing Times

Where: Staging from the Strathcona Olympiette Centre

When: First rider off at approximately 13:30, Saturday, September 26.

Who: You MUST be a member of the ABA or a fully-affiliated ABA Cycling Club (please check with your club, as some unfortunately did not affiliate with the ABA in 2020 due to our COVID-19 Pandemic)

What: 20km Individual Time Trial. This will be an Eddy Merckx-style event, to keep it more about your engine and not state-of-the-art equipment. This also makes it accessible to everyone that wants to participate.

STANDARD ROAD BARS AND WHEELS only! No TT bikes  or clip-on aerobars or disc wheels will be allowed. Deep section aero rims will be allowed, because for some riders that’s all they have on their standard road bike.

(Well, I guess you could use all your state-of-the-art aero equipment, but we will not recognize your result. Not that these results are in any way official anyway. We’re just out for some fun here and to establish a few bragging rights!! Also, this “event” is a good way to test your Threshold Heart Rate and Functional Threshold Power as we get ready for the coming months of indoor training.)

It’s UCI World Road Championships Weekend! Let’s celebrate a modicum of the normalcy that’s returned to the professional racing scene. So, choose a country you want to represent to give this little event its “World Championship” flair!

Registration will close on September 25, 2020, at 4pm MST. Start times will be emailed the evening of September 25.

AHS COVID Gathering/Event Restrictions will be followed. No holders will be provided. Start times will be spaced to minimize rider congregations around the start and finish areas. Please minimize your interactions with other riders, and follow 2m physical distancing.
