Weekly Update: March 20-26

Spring is (officially anyways) here! That means that our weekend rides are back in rotation! This week we’ll be leaving from Colchester School at noon on both Saturday and Sunday. Please keep an eye on our Twitter feed (@VelcoityBikeAB) for last minute updated on the ride.

As the weather continues to warm up, we’ll be rolling out the rest of our weekly rides. Stay posted!

On a different note, our 2017 Club Sign-Up is Open and you can finally sign up with Velocity for an ABA License! If you taking part in or plan on taking part in our winter activities, please sign up for 2017 membership ASAP.


Day by Day Schedule


Saturday, March 25: Velocity Casual Road Ride

A casual, early season group ride suitable for all skill levels. If there are enough people, we will split into two groups. 

Start Location: Transcend at Ritchie Market (11am) or  Colchester School (12pm)

Start Time: Leave at 11am from Ritchie Market, 12pm from Colchester.

Details: Bring a road or CX bike, preferably with fenders. No-Drop pace.

Route Map: Route from Ritchie Market to Colchester “A” (27km), Road route from Colchester Hall (59km)


Sunday, March 26: Velocity Road Ride

A slightly longer road ride (weather permitting). 

Start Location: Transcend at Ritchie Market (11am) or  Colchester School (12pm)

Start Time: Leave at 11am from Ritchie Market, 12pm from Colchester.

Details: Bring a road or CX bike, preferably with fenders. Plan for 2.5-3hrs from Colchester or 3.5-4hrs from the Ritchie Market. We’ll plan on headed out towards the prospective Velocity Stage Race course.

Notes

  • Our Calendar is always up to date, however changing conditions may require a last minute update or cancellation, which will be announced on Twitter. Watch the @VelocityBikeAB Twitter feed for any last minute changes or cancellations. This feed is also shown on the main page of the website.
  • We are insured by the the Alberta Bicycle Association who requires all riders on any scheduled club group ride be a member of the club. Please check out our Membership page for details and to learn about our trial membership.
