Weekly Update: August 29-September 4

Team Pursuit at the VCC Track Day last Saturday

So so much to talk about this week! Not only did we field three stellar teams at the Team Time Trial Provincial Championships (results still unknown), but we also hosted our first ever Velocity Track Day.

On that note, tonight is your last chance to head to beginner track night. Even if you haven’t had a chance to make on all summer, why not go now? Especially considering that the Edmonton International Track Championships are happening on September 11!. Registration closes soon (if you want a great T-Shirt, that is), so sign up on the Google Document here.

Oh, and last but certainly not least, #CROSSISHERE! Finally. The wait is over. The people rejoicing. The children singing. After month of pretending of sadness and weeping, the greatest cycling discipline on earth has again turned her loving, albeit slightly mud splattered, face upon us. But don’t take my word for it – I’m admittedly slightly biased – instead come out on Wednesday for the first Midweek Race, Thursday for our first CX Skills night, or to Okotoks this weekend! What’s the CX Skills ride? Just like the CX Endurance rides we’ll meet at Velocity Cycle at 6:30, but instead of doing an endurance workout we’ll focus on specific cyclocross skills. See below for all the details.
