Anyone want to guess what happened this weekend? We raced bikes! And not only did we race bikes, we had some pretty impressive results while doing it both at the Alberta Provincial Championships and at BC Superweek.

At the Alberta Provincials, Ed took home a fancy winner’s jersey in the 60-69 category, Kevin 4th in 50-59, and Shane dug deep to finish 18th in the Open Men’s category. You can see the full results here.

Meanwhile, Michael and Terra travelled down to BC Superweek to compete against pros from across the continent (and Australia and Germany!). Terra is guest riding with the Glotman Simpson Club for the week of racing (you need to be on a team to do some of the events) and Michael is racing with his Trek Red Truck team. So far, they’ve raced the Tour of Delta. Terra recorded a 24th and 28th in the first two cries and a 27th in the UCI Road Race. Michael landed 22nd in the first crit, crashed and DNF’d the second, and was 21st in the UCI Road Race. Full results can be found here. Michael and Terra will be joined but Mark and Micah later in the week – be sure to watch the Tour of Gastown livestream on Wednesday night to catch glimpse of Velocity Members racing against some of the best!

In ride news, we have the last Mountain Bike Skills and Drills clinic starting from the Bike Park in Devon. We’ve also changed the start location of the Urban Hills to Velocity Cycle. Please note that, since Michael is off racing in BC, there will not be a designated ride leader for this week! There is more details about each ride in the Day by Day Schedule section.
