Weekly Update: May 16-22

Wow, another Velocity Stage Race is in the wraps! We had 13 different members out there absolutely crushing it all weekend. Watch out for a Velocity Stage Race wrap -up post with photos later this week, but for the time being here is a one of Terra Manca on her way to destroying the Women’s 1/2/3 field (and most of the Men’s 3 field!). And of course, a million thank you’s to all of the volunteers who spent their weekend making this event happen. You are all the best!

As always, we have a full calendar of weekly rides that you can read more about below. Most notably, we’ve moved to doing Urban Hills every Tuesday because you all seem to like those more than sprints. We’ve also started including a departure time from Velocity Cycle for our weekend endurance rides. For those of you looking for some extra miles, the weather is just too nice to drive!

Of course, don’t forget that a number of those rides cater to new cyclists. If that sounds like you, the Learn to Ride Clinics and Casual Saturday Rides are where you want to be!

Lastly, Bikes on Broadway is fast approaching (May 21-23). While I (Michael) won’t be able to head out to Saskatoon with the team, I have created a signup sheet to connect you with other Velocity Members that are planning on attending so that you can sharing travel and accommodation for this race. If that sounds interested to you, see the BoB Blog Post. The signup deadline is TOMORROW (May 17) at 10:00pm.
